"I take part in the BIG Spring Clean to help rid my local area of unsightly litter. I hope others will be inspired to do the same when they see me, and get involved in local clean ups. The campaign highlights litter problems and discourages littering which I fully support." Donna Rainey, Volunteer
The BIG Spring Clean is Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful's flagship volunteering opportunity delivered through Live Here Love Here.
The programme supports local community clean-ups across Northern Ireland. It is Northern Ireland's fastest growing community clean-up volunteering campaign and is open to individuals, schools, community groups and businesses from all communities wishing to rid their streets of litter and discarded rubbish.
The BIG Spring Clean is Northern Ireland's largest community clean-up campaign. From 2014 to 2019, 553,571 volunteers have participated in clean-up activities during the Spring months, removing over 800 tonnes of waste!
The great thing about the BIG Spring Clean is that it provides a range of opportunities for volunteers including one-off events which require only a few hours of time. All sections of society can get involved.
The Live Here Love Here website provides an online network where volunteers can register their clean up events, get useful advice and information and find out about other events in their area.
