Plastic isn’t all bad, it’s actually a great material and helps us navigate our busy lives. Thanks to plastics, we have computers, state of the art machines to detect health issues and we’ve been able to travel to the moon and back!
It’s our misuse of plastic that’s the problem. We mindlessly use plastics everyday. Most of it is thrown away within just a few minutes of use. Many plastics end up in landfills or in the environment and can take up to a thousand years to break down.
Our misuse of plastic is crippling our environment, killing wildlife and damaging our health.
It is up to every business, every organisation, every school, every individual to tackle and find ways to reduce our use of pointless plastic.
Make your commitment to reducing your use of pointless plastic or find out more by viewing the Live Here Love Here Plastic Promise page. You can make a Plastic Promise as an individual, community group or organisation. Together we can kick the habit of pointless plastic.
Check out our litter loathing puppet 'absolutely ragin' about single-use coffee cups and Barry the Blender Henderson saying 'ditch the straws ya posers'! Help us to raise awareness of pointless plastic by sharing on facebook.
