Climate Change training for business teams

Climate Change Awareness briefing – this is a short summary of the climate change issues that we are all faced with. The briefing provides an overview of the challenge ahead and how we can share taking action to reduce carbon emissions and be part of the solution. The briefing lasts for 60-75 minutes and can act as a starting point for individuals and organisations to work together on new sustainability projects or work streams. We can train large or small group numbers for this session and costs can be provided on request. The briefing is contextualised to NI where appropriate and attendees can come away from the session having been briefed about the following:

• The climate change challenge and behaviour change
• Climate risks and opportunities for NI
• Global and local policy response
• UK and NI emissions
• Journey to net-zero
• Carbon Footprints
• The business case for action

Carbon Literacy training – this 8 hr training can be completed in 1 day or in 3 short modules with a mixture of independent home learning and online zoom meetings. The course is designed around climate change criteria identified and accredited through the Carbon Literacy Project, a UN recognised organisation and the certificate awarding body.

The training can be used to support organisational change towards new, sustainability projects and actions or provide a clear context to the wider climate challenge we all face across sectors.

The training will focus broadly across the following areas:

• The climate change challenge and behaviour change
• Climate risks and opportunities for NI
• Global and local policy response
• UK and NI emissions
• Journey to net-zero
• Carbon Footprints
• Individual and group action
• Making an emission reduction pledge

The course is externally accredited by the Carbon Literacy Project and all attendees will receive a certificate on the completion of a short evidence form at the end of the training.

The course costs for this are £163/pp plus VAT for a group size of 15 per programme and a cost total of £2445, plus VAT. Costs include:

• Course materials – attendees are provided with web based self-study resources that remain live and available for over 3 months
• Course delivery over 3 modules
• Reading lists and Toolbox talk resources
• Carbon pledge – evidence form check, guidance documents and submission admin
• Online certification through the Carbon Literacy Project – we send attendees digital certificates once they have been awarded.

Please note – if a course is booked and less than 15 people attend, a full delivery charge is still due. In addition, all 3 modules must be attended for certification.

This training provides regular space for discussion and review and through prior agreement can be contextualised to individual organisations.

• Climate justice, emission sources and impacts
• Carbon footprints – our own Carbon equivalent emissions and their significance
• Behaviour change – how much change is enough?
• Taking action – individual and group pledges
