Helen joined the team as Live Here Love Here in December 2020. Helen has worked in the environmental volunteering sector since graduating from Aberdeen University with a Bachelor of Land Economy (Hons). During her long career with The Conservation Volunteers Helen has gained extensive experience in developing community-led environmental action projects.

Outside of work she has a passion for environmental causes including recycling, treeplanting and gardening for wildlife and enjoys long walks with her spaniel Charlie.

Live Here Love Here Outreach Officer

Rosalind joined Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful in February 2022. Having studied French and Spanish at the University of Cambridge, Rosalind seeks to demonstrate how communication, creativity and storytelling can help address the climate crisis. She campaigns with various charities and businesses in Northern Ireland to advocate for strong environmental policy and to promote climate action. Passionate about youth advocacy, Rosalind has represented the views of young people at global conferences, including COP26, and sits as a youth advisor on National Lottery Board. She is Vice-Chair of Belfast Climate Commission Youth Working Group and a member of Ulster Wildlife Youth Forum. Rosalind also communicates on environmental and social issues in her weekly column in Belfast Telegraph.

Lynda initially graduated with a BA Hons in Fine & Applied Art from University of Ulster and diploma in business studies from Marywood University, Pennsylvania USA. She spent the first half of her career as a photographer with studios in England & Ireland and also freelancing. For the past few years Lynda has worked within the charity sector and has a passion for helping and being part of change. Lynda is happiest when surrounded by family and has 1 husband, 2 daughters, 2 stepchildren and 1 dog!

Live Here Love Here Outreach Officer

Chris has spent more than 10 years working in the Environmental education sphere as a Training Officer for The Conservation Volunteers. The first five of those years were spent training students within the grounds of Clandeboye Estate under the good graces of Lady Dufferin, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava within a tree nursery constructed in her Victorian walled garden. The other five have been spent in community groups bringing wellness and environmental conservation to many communities across Northern Ireland. Being tasked with bringing the people of Northern Ireland closer together via environmental conservation helping them achieve horticultural qualifications Chris successes were acknowledged in 2019 by his winning The President’s Award delivered by Sir Jonathon Porritt ,2nd Baronet CBE in a ceremony London City Hall.

Adopt A Spot Officer

Fern joined the team in early 2021 to help deliver the ‘Adopt A Spot’ project. Coming from a creative background, she completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fine Art from Ulster University in 2017. For Fern, the COVID-19 pandemic offered an unexpected break from work, enabling her to pursue her keen interest in sustainability issues. She went on to achieve an MSc. with Distinction in Leadership for Sustainable Development from Queen’s University Belfast. She has recently acted as a Researcher and Advisor on various sustainability projects, such as the Belfast One Million Trees programme, across the public and voluntary sector. In her spare time, Fern enjoys baking, gardening and spending time with her family in her hometown of Donegal.

Wendy has well over 10 years experience of managing and distributing public funds to communities in a range of sectors across Northern Ireland and the UK, particularly working as part of the National Lottery Community Fund where she worked for close to 13 years. She is really inspired by seeing the real difference ordinary people with extraordinary ideas can make in their local communities. Wendy can usually be found exploring forests and beaches with my son and cocker spaniel Alfie, foraging locally or in the garden experimenting with growing food with the dream of one day being completely self sufficient! She also enjoys travelling and reading.

Senior Grants Officer

Orla has worked in the not-for-profit sector for over 25 years, mainly in the creative industries, supporting visual arts, craft, music, theatre and dance. She studied English Literature at Queen’s University and holds an MSc in Cultural Management. With a lifelong passion for the nature, wildlife and our environment, Orla is thrilled to bring her professional knowledge and experience to KNIB. She also holds an FIBKA Certificate in Beekeeping and is passionate about biodiversity, and sharing the message on the value of our pollinators. She lives in Belfast with her fluffy 3-legged cat Petal and can always be found outdoors up a mountain or in the woods.
